For Jillian Semesnyei, upcycling is a path rooted in the idea of prolonging the life of an object by repurposing or repainting it to send it out into the world to be loved by someone new. Keeping these once unwanted items out of a landfill creates reduction of raw material consumption and gives our society another way of achieving environmental sustainability.

Jillian mainly paints with white to give her wares a broader customer base, often distresses pieces for the worn or farmhouse look but also loves creating one of a kind statement pieces.

Jillian holds a university degree in psychology but considers the hard-earned degree gained from truth-seeking and hands-on living more resourceful. A mother and wife first, Jillian enjoys spending her vocational time as a burgeoning writer, activist, homesteader, crafter, and is an aspiring business owner in the art of upcycling and furniture refinishing. Most of all, she seeks trust, clarity, friendship, and deep conversation.
